Ominous: Borders: Coffee (The Paris Thriller. A Novel.)

About

PASSION STALKS YOUR HEART... FEAR STALKS YOUR MIND
It could happen to you. Transport yourself to the mean streets of Paris; Surge ominously through the psyche of modern Europe. Conflict is rife; danger is everywhere. If you’re tempted to trawl through Paris, to drink in bars, or smoke in dark corners, be warned. An obsessive & beautiful classical violinist is pitted against a malevolent killer; it’s summer in Europe, & the cafés and bistros hum with robust and colourful energy. Inspector Vasseur has his favourite table on a battered sidewalk. Alone he sits on hot summer nights, sipping coffee, allowing his instincts to grapple with mysterious cases of innocent deaths. In other parts of the city, the Stalker trails her female targets, hell-bent on seduction. In this tightly plotted psychological thriller, borders are stormed, emotional, sexual, and psychotic; and shifting borders weave danger around lovers.

Editorial Reviews:
One of the best thrillers that I have come across Ominous: Borders: Coffee twists the thriller novel genre into something new and different. If I could compare this in the same manner, it would be more The Doors version of the novel, deep, sometimes dark, sometimes eerie, sometimes strange, but always great. "Joseph the evil-cyclist" USA.
I found it difficult to put this book down! If you enjoy the new breed of thriller, this is a must read. The author has the ability to evoke the senses in this edgy novel set in Paris and Addis Ababa, both cities immersed in the culture of coffee and food...The mix of suspense , intrigue and seduction is a heady one and the effortless prose allows the characters to be credible and often menacing. This is the mark of a true story teller. "Annadem." Ireland
A layered thriller that stimulates the mind and the senses. From the first pages this wonderful thriller hooks one into the story with its interesting and disturbing characters, it's sensory explorations and the layered complexity of psychology and humanity. The French setting with a minor African riff and the detail of food, wine, coffee and poetry makes for a mentally stimulating ride. This is a page turner that I wish could have gone on longer. I found it difficult to put this book down!If you enjoy the new breed of thriller, this is a must read. The author has the ability to evoke the senses in this edgy novel set in Paris and Addis Ababa, both cities immersed in the culture of coffee and food. It explores the psychosis of borders and borders within borders, whether they be physical or psychological . Inspector Vasseur sits in his cafe in Paris trying to solve inexplicable murders all carried out on different bridges on the River Seine in Paris. Will he succeed or will the dark forces overwhelm him? Who is his bete noire who leaves tell tale clues on each of his victims?

The intrigue builds as each character and sub-plot is introduced . The characters come alive and the Analyst , the Paymaster and the Stalker are immersed in convoluted worlds and the levels at which they are connected to each other and to two beautiful women. Throw in romance, obsession and suspense and the tight plot is complete. The mix of suspense , intrigue and seduction is a heady one and the effortless prose allows the characters to be credible and often menacing. This is the mark of a true story teller. Ominous Borders:Coffee is a page turner of note, I look forward to more novels from this fine author.
